Curry Family Foundation awards $300K to 11 Puerto Rico nonprofits – Studio 54 Gala: The Magic is Back
San Juan, PR, November 16, 2023 – The Curry Family Foundation’s (MECFF) annual fundraising event brought magic and glamour to the Puerto Rico Museum of Art, transporting more than 200 guests back in time for one unforgettable night, recreating the legendary New York nightclub Studio 54.
To the beat of iconic 70s and 80s music, guests never left the dance floor as they joined Mark E. Curry, CEO of MECFF, and Miguel Príncipe, President of MECFF, for the presentation of over $300,000 to the following organizations: Casa De Niños Manuel Fernández Juncos, Hogar Cuna San Cristóbal, Alianza para un PR sin Drogas, Crearte, GoGo Foundation, Hogar Niñas de Cupey, Fundación A-Mar, Hogar del Niño Ave María, Safe Child Coalition, Hogar Albergue de Niños de San Germán / Portal de Amor, and Antilles Foundation.
Mark Curry, his children Megan and Ian, along with Mike and Tina Hodges, extraordinary donors of the foundation, emphasized their commitment to continue awarding funds with the purpose of strengthening the organizations that work tirelessly for the well-being of children and women — vulnerable populations on our island.
In a space masterfully transformed into Studio 54, guests mingled with iconic characters from those unforgettable nights, including Cher, Andy Warhol, Donna Summer, and Elton John, while screens displayed images of the most legendary figures of the era, creating the illusion of sharing the celebration with the very legends who made that time so magical.
